What we do:
At Essex County Probation, we have one juvenile Probation Officer that
supervises youth in Essex County that have been charged with a crime.
Specifically, through our Juvenile Delinquent Diversion program we are
able to work collaboratively with schools, parents, and service providers to
offer solutions to behaviors that include substance use, truancy, runaway
and incorrigible behaviors. Additionally, if a PINS (Person in Need Of
Supervision) is placed on Probation through the Family Court system,
our Department also supervises that Youth.
Who we are:
At The Essex County Probation Department our goal is to effect positive change in juvenile offenders placed on probation and diversion services by holding them accountable and facilitating their rehabilitation through collaborative approach with other service and treatment providers, while simultaneously promoting public safety.
