Our educators connect people with the information they need on topics such as commercial and consumer agriculture, nutrition and health, youth and families, energy efficiency, economic and community development, and sustainable natural resources.

4-H Youth Programming in Essex County:
Through Cornell Cooperative Extension Essex County’s 4-H Program, youth develop the essential life skills they need to thrive- building confidence, cultivating compassion, and forming meaningful relationships with dedicated adults. These Connections empower them to become active contributors to Essex County’s Communities. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Essex County is your resource for information on soils, site improvement, plant selection, proper plant care, eco-friendly practices, integrated pest management, composting and so much more!
Adirondack Harvest:
Adirondack Harvest’s focus is expanding markets for local farm products so that consumers have more local food choices and assisting farmers to increase sustainable production to meet the expanding markets.
Farm to School:
Farm to School Programs focus on featuring locally grown, healthy foods in school meals. They often also include classroom lessons on food and nutrition; visits to farm’s and farmer’s markets; creation of school gardens, and the support of school-based community supported agriculture (CSA) programs.
